Cows in tall grass

Welcome to Flesch Angus

Flesch Angus, located in Shelby, MT, started when Lester Flesch bought his first set of Registered Angus cows in Canada in 1963. Lester and his son John built a strong set of Angus cattle from production and dispersal sales across the region. They held their first production sale in 1989, and have continued to market seedstock ever since then. In 2007, after graduating from Colorado State University, and working for 5 years with Dr. Tom Rea at Genetics West, Jeff and his wife, Nanna, returned to the operation. At this time, Jeff began making all the breeding decisions and management of the cow herd. He focused on building a stronger ET and AI program, concentrating on producing larger sire groups of full and half-brothers for the production sale, and most importantly, building the cowherd with full and half-sisters out of proven cows to take the cowherd to the next level.

Flesch Angus has always focused on multi-trait selection, selecting cattle with real world performance and solid foundations that can also perform in the harsh environment of Northern Montana. They prefer their females to be feminine and angular, with some shape and body, to produce bulls for their customers that have Power, Performance, and Phenotype. They hold their annual production sale on the second Friday in March.
